Domestic and family violence forces countless women, children, and families into fear, trauma, and homelessness. Many remain trapped because they have nowhere to go, no financial support, and no legal protection. With your help, CCC provides shelter, counselling, legal aid, and long-term solutions so survivors can rebuild their lives safely.
Domestic and family violence leaves deep scars on women, children, and men. In Australia, the Australian Bureau of Statistics reports that 1 in 6 women (16.9% or 1.7 million) and 1 in 20 men (5.5% or 526,600) have experienced partner violence since the age of 15 (ABS PSS 2021–22).
Violence against women and children was declared a national crisis in 2015, yet the true scale remains hidden due to widespread under-reporting.
Ending this crisis requires more than awareness. It demands a coordinated approach where criminal justice, law enforcement, and public health sectors work together to prevent violence and protect survivors.
